Anethy. Anothy. Anethee. Anothee.
I would have preferred a movie to wrangling with complex calculator coding for four hours.
Today I practiced from 9:40 AM to 10:30. 50 minutes... not bad, not bad. I would love to take a break now but I'm going to get sucked into my bench and another hour will go by without me knowing it... and I still have to read the entirety of the Great Gatsby and complete another AP worksheets. Those things look deceivingly short but five of those problems can stretch out to five pages of scribbled out work and several hours.
My lesson was fine today. I didn't do so well during the second half. Liebestraume sounded nice until I got to the end. Isn't it funny that I can handle all the hairy cadenzas and the snarky middle section but haven't even bothered looking at the simple end yet?
So my task for this week is to learn the last section. Completely.
And to master the first half of the first page of the Revolutionary Etude. A lot of nervous swallowing and blinking right now... goddamn that thing is intimidating. Craig, of course, plays it beautifully. I could only bask in his mastery and hope that he will guide me into towards being able to play it.
Of course Rondo alla Turca is a piece by Mozart. Goodness gracious, that is what you get from a sleep deprived girl.
I ordered two substantial music theory/composition workbooks this morning! $46 well spent. If you would like, I'll make copies of the things and give them to you! I'm not sure what level of theory you're studying right now... grade 8, you say?
I've also registered for the rest of my testing. Bloody hell, I dropped by Barnes and Noble today to take a peek at the Literature prep books and it's hard! I would rather re-learn Trig and review old concepts than learn entirely new ones.
I have two books of Debussy and one collects dust. Let me know if you want it.
What's your dream piano?
Goodnight Annie,
-Torie
